Need Roommate - Orange Park, FL

Hi, I’m William.  I’m a 21 year old trans guy looking to move into an apartment, probably in the Holly Cove Apartments, and I know it would be a lot easier if I had a roommate.  I’m looking for a person of any gender who is stable enough to pay for their half of the bills and accepting of transgender people.  I’d like it if we could be friends as well as roommates.  The apartments that I’m looking at are 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms for $774 a month, but if I find someone already living in a 2 bedroom in this complex I’d gladly move in with them.  I will need to find a job in the area before I can move in, but I’m confident that will happen soon, and I really want to have everything lined up so that I can get moving as soon as I can.  If you’re also looking for a place in this area, or you have a place in this area and are looking for someone to move in, just let me know.  My url is thegeekdom.tumblr.com.

Have Couch - Horley, Surrey, England (near Gatwick Airport)

Hi there! I have an airbed (technically an air sofa but it’s hella comfy) available in my flat in Horley. It’s right near Gatwick airport with good travel links to London and Brighton. Here’s some basic info about me and the flat:

If you’re interested, let me know :D

Have Couch - Victoria, BC, canada

We actually have an entire bedroom available for rent starting February 1st. We posted an ad earlier this year for our couches (http://www.transhousingnetwork.com/post/31256981810/have-couch-victoria-british-columbia-canada) but unfortunately until recently we had about seven people living in a four bedroom house so it has been a bit too chaotic to host anyone. We’re definitely hoping to change that now that more space is opening up.

If you are seeking a home that is queer, feminist, somewhat communal, social justice-minded, laid back and fun, where we cook good things, hang out together and just generally enjoy life, this may be the place for you.

Our house has four bedrooms and we are currently seeking one new roommate to fill the fourth room. Rent is $550/mo plus hydro, which is pretty low because the house retains heat really well and gets a lot of sunlight. There are two floors, with two bedrooms upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs. Each floor also has a living room and a full bathroom. The upstairs has a full kitchen, with a fridge, microwave, stove, and pretty much any kitchen amenities you might need. The downstairs has a kitchenette-style space with a sink and a fridge.

We currently have wireless internet and are discussing maybe looking into cable television. We are not allowed to smoke on the property but we don’t really care if you smoke or not. The available bedroom is unfurnished, ground level and medium-sized with average-sized closet and window. There is lots of storage space and parking, as well as coin-op laundry on the property. We have two cats and are open to other cats or small animals (preferably not rodents or reptiles though). There is no pet deposit :)

We are not heavy partiers but we do like to socialize so we have people visiting often and throw parties once in a while. We are all in our early twenties and a mix of gender presentations. Two of us are students and one of us often works really early in the morning so weekdays are generally pretty quiet. A trans* friendly, body-positive, food-positive, anti-racist, healthy space is really important to us so we’re looking for someone who is already in the space to be able to help maintain that. You don’t have to be queer yourself but it is definitely important that you are queer and trans* friendly.

If you have any questions or would like to set up a time to meet, please message oh-noah.tumblr.com or e-mail tarynheart@gmail.com :) looking forward to hearing from you!

couch and bedroom available in Brighton, MA until 26th or 27th

22-year-old queer trans woman living in Brighton, MA with a couch and a bedroom available until the 26th or the 27th. basically, my roommate is out visiting her family and her bedroom will be free until she returns.

I live right off Sutherland Rd. on the B line but I am also walking distance from the C and D line as well as the 86 (Cleveland Circle -> Sullivan Station via Harvard Sq.) bus.

I’m honestly just looking for someone to keep me company while she’s gone. I am okay with women (queer or not) and trans and/or gay men.

I am laid back and can be talkative and prefer someone who’d be willing to chat. I love video games and movies. I really enjoy cooking and actually prefer someone who enjoys food as long as you are willing to chip in. I play ukulele and piano but I try to keep it quiet at night. I have nudist tendencies but you are not required to participate.

unfortunately, pets aren’t allowed because of allergies! I am 420-friendly but smoking (420 or not) will have to be done on the balcony because my roommate hates smoke. consequently, if you smoke, you may have to sleep on the sofa instead of my roommate’s bed. drinking is fine but I don’t drink that much myself.

complimentary birthday cake.

I can’t think of anything else to put so if you have any questions, just let me know!

Have Couch or Room in Miami, FL.

I have a couch or spare room with a bed in Miami, Florida for a  short stay of a week or so. longer is available. 3 bedroom house in the suburbs. car is available for use. I understand that some folks may be looking specifically for a space with other trans folks. I like to cd on occasion but mostly just a straight looking male. I consider myself an ally: always listening, learning, checking myself, and calling shit out.

twitchytwitchtwitch asked: Hi, I've submitted for available housing before. But. Um. I don't know if this is okay but if anyone in the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada area is looking to be completely overfed with a Christmas dinner (or whatever holiday you do or don't celebrate, we just like to feed people), I would like to extend an invitation. Is this allowed? I'm sorry if it's not, my mum and dad were actually the ones that suggested it. You can email me at twitchybrown@hotmaildotcom if you're interested.

Have Couch-Need Roommate-Sacramento (near Bay Area, CA)

Hi!

My name’s Indi, I’m an FTM early in my transition.  I live in a not-so-great part of town in Sacramento, but my street is pretty safe.  (No walking after dark, biking during night and day okay, walking during day okay.)

I have a couch, and also a place to crash in my room generally (loveseat, shag rug, whatever takes your fancy).  I have a bicycle which can be used (but is not in great condition, I’ll hopefully have work done on it soon).  I have a truck and can provide rides nearby for free or farther out for gas money.

There’s lots of places to find work around here, as I am in a fairly urban area not too far from downtown (Arden/Carmichael area).  There’s a large shopping mall nearby, lots of restaurants, etc.  I live right near the Light Rail.  There’s a lot of buses.  So there’s public transportation.  I also live near museums, the zoo, etc (relatively so).

Sacramento is about right between San Francisco and Tahoe.  It’s also near UC Davis.

There are many colleges in this area.

I live in a 4 bedroom, 1 bath house with a large backyard.  We have a vegetable garden.  There is a spacious living room, and a dining room with a fireplace.  The house is in pretty good condition.  We have 3 dogs, 2 terriers, 1 hound about 50 lbs.

I have two roommates, one man, one woman, both cis, and for the most part really accepting of me and my trans friends.  The woman is least fond of gay men, who “talk too much about anal sex,” in front of her.

For an overnight spot, this isn’t a bad place to crash.

Around January, we will be looking for a new roommate in earnest.  To be honest, the bedroom we’re renting out is not that big, but it has a nice window and closet, and it’s closer to the room I’ll be in than the cis people’s rooms.

I’m a musician but I’m not terribly loud.  The cis man is not fond of children.  And as of about a month ago, the house is no longer 420 friendly.  (Woe is me.)

The house is fairly accessible (no stairs).

The rent will be pretty low (probably less than $400) plus utilities which we divide evenly.  For NorCal, in the city, anything under $500 is pretty good.  Idk.

Hit me up!

HAVE Couch - Chicago, IL

Hey all, this is Erik (moonbard.tumblr.com), and I’m glad to finally have my own place to help others. I don’t have a couch, but I do have a floor with a futon. My place is open for a few days at a time for people who need it. I’m a 22 year old transman, and my 2 roommates are cismen, but cool with trans people (Hell, they tolerate me without a shirt on a daily basis.) to a great extent.

As long as you are willing to use the soap I provide you, crashing here should be fine. I have severe allergies to synthetic scents and many other things, so I ask anyone wanting a place to crash to give up their deodorant, lotion, soap, shampoo, etcetera. Seems harsh but I like not going to the hospital. I will provide you with soap and shampoo. Also due to my allergies, no smokers (marijuana or nicotine) are allowed. Just doesn’t come out of clothes and hair, and again, I don’t like getting sick.

My apartment is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. There is a coin laundromat in the building for cleaning clothes. There are two different buses (35 and 8) nearby that can each take you to a different L line (red and orange). We have a fair amount of floor space, but you will need your own blankets and pillows on the weekend. I can cook fairly well, but I need to know about dietary restrictions before hand, and I can’t cook for vegans because I can’t afford special food, but I’ll do the best I can otherwise.

Hobbies and personality wise, I’ll probably be in my room most of the time because I’m introverted and I have friends who sleep over on the floor for the weekends, so it’s kind of a regular sleepover. We like to watch anime and play role-playing games (like D&D).

Please send me a message either on tumblr or a text to (708) 860-1198. I don’t check my tumblr every day, so if you want to get in contact with me quickly, send a text.

HAVE COUCH - BROOKLYN, NY

A place to stay for any homeless queer people! We are a radical house with 3/4 queer residents. Unfortunately our home is not accessible to many differently abled people so please include if that is a concern so we can try our best to open up the space. One night stay, possibility of longer stay depending on assessment by house members (you will have to contribute to house upkeep). Please message my tumblr.

HAVE A COUCH - EAST MESA, ARIZONA AREA

I am willing to help some one out on a temporary basis (No Drama), but

I am truly looking for a longer term permanent roommate that can help out with ½ of the water, electric, and sewer utilities mixed with keeping the place clean etc.

I am in and out most week days, but I am in all day closer to the week ends.

I have a hobby that can make weekends a bit loud at times.

Again, I am willing to help someone out on a temporary basis (A couple of weeks or maybe more? but I only help those who are willing to help themselves. No complainers or generally unhappy people. Walk to shopping and a nice clean Home with Internet (WiFi).

I am a more butch M-F TG business person. I would prefer a roommate from the TG-TS experience so there is some commonality.

I amnot looking for anything more than a responsible and self motivated person that is honest and trust worthy to share part of my home.

I do not tolerate illegal drugs, smoking, and excessive drinking.

Aside from that I am very easy to get along with J

HAVE COUCH - ST. CLOUD, MINNESSOTA

We are a white queer couple - a trans guy and a genderqueer person. We are both students. One undergrad (filmstudies) and one graduate (community counseling). We have two male roommates, one trans and one cis.

Short term stays are fine, and we can help you find other resources in the area.

There are two kitchens: an omnivore friendly kitchen and a vegan friendly kitchen.

We are within walking distance to downtown/the bus station and the state campus. Three of us have cars, if you needed a ride and we have the time. I’m sure at least one of us would be available.

There is no smoking inside and no pets aloud.

If you just need a meal or a shower, that can be accommodated as well.

Feel free to contact one of us, at any time.

Entire floor available in Richmond, Virginia

My spouse is trans and we are open to hosting a person or family in the Richmond, VA area. We’re in a good school district. I have a guest bedroom for a (respite) few night stay, or an entire finished basement that is basically a studio apartment with a partial kitchen (refrigerator and microwave and countertop) for someone with longer term needs (we’d ask modest rent and a signed lease for utilities for this sort of setup). The basement is partially furnished. We can move a crib, toddler bed, or twin bed down or move our stuff out if you have your own.

We do have 2 cats and 4 children under age 10 in the house, so it’s a bit noisy. We are a non-smoking, no drug, minimal alcohol household (ie, a social drink or wine with dinner once in a while). The kitchen and laundry are on the main floor and would have to be shared.

There are 5 rooms - a full bath, a 30/12 room carpeted with a fireplace and exterior door, a 12/12 tiled floor space with computer jacks, a 23/12 tiled room with basement half-windows, and a 12/12 kitchenette with a fridge and microwave and countertop and garage access. There’s even a Harry Potter closet.

Outside, we’re in a cul-de-sac on with a large backyard with a patio. The driveway goes all the way to the back so there are no stairs to enter. All door handles are handicap-friendly. There’s a pediatrician and a dentist, grocery store, gas station and dry cleaner within walking distance, but we’re a bit off the trail for public transportation.
